Health and Safety Officer
Starting date: January 2019
Salary: PO1 SP 34-37 £5,738 – £6,185 per anuan (FTE £30,756 – 33,136)
Hours: Approx. 30 hours per month
Contract: Fixed term 1st January – 31st August 2019 / Part Time.
The Directors of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi Academy are looking to appoint an exceptional internal candidate to co-ordinate, support and advise the Board of Directors and School Leadership Teams on all aspects with regards to Health and Safety. The successful candidate will act as the Responsible person for the Multi Academy.
This post will work on a flexible basis so the successful candidate must be able to organise their own time and work to strict deadlines. The vacancy is for internal candidates therefore this role will be completed in addition to the successful candidate’s current role within the Multi-Academy. The Health and Safety Officer will be part of the Central team however the majority of the time will be spent undertaking site visits.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills. Be able to work independently whilst at the same time forming effective relationships with the Directors and School Leadership teams. Experience of Health and Safety in the workplace within a school environment is essential to the role.
Candidates should ensure support is provided by their Principal/Head teacher/Head of School prior to registering their interest as flexible working arrangements will be required.

The Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi Academy are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to provide professional clerking services to our Board of Directors The role will include: providing advice to the Directors on governance, constitutional and procedural matters and provide effective administrative support.
The Multi Academy currently comprises of four Catholic schools situated in Redditch and Bromsgrove (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic First School, St Peters Catholic First School, St Bede’s Catholic Middle School and St Augustine’s Catholic High School) responsible for over 2500 students and staff. All the schools are rated as Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills. Be able to work independently whilst at the same time forming effective relationships with Directors, Academy Representatives and The MAC Central Team. A knowledge of Governing body procedures and previous experience in a similar role is essential.
This post will work on a flexible basis so the successful candidate must be able to organise their own time and work to strict deadlines. The Clerk to the Board of Directors will be required to attend the Full Board meetings (7) and subcommittee meetings (9) throughout the Academic year, these meetings pre-dominantly take place in the evening.
